The funicular climbs the cliff above, connecting the Lower Town to the Haute-Ville, while lanterns line the street and the scent of fresh bread and coffee drifts from open doorways.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThis sketch captures the street at its most inviting, a summer afternoon in a neighbourhood that has been drawing visitors since the 17th century. Quebec City itself is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the only walled city north of Mexico, where French culture, history, and joie de vivre are woven into every stone.
