Downtown Sketcher at the 13th Annual Nova Scotia Art and Craft Show

Celebrating Local Artistry

Mark your calendars! The 13th Annual Nova Scotia Art and Craft Show is coming to Halifax this November, and Downtown Sketcher is thrilled to be part of this vibrant celebration of local creativity.

Taking place at the Cedar Event Centre on 111 Clayton Park Drive, this two-day event showcases the best of Nova Scotia's handmade artistry. Set for November 8-9, 2024, the show promises to be a feast for the senses and a perfect opportunity to discover unique, locally-crafted treasures.

What to Expect

As you step into the Cedar Event Centre, you'll be greeted by a diverse array of handcrafted items, all made with care and skill by Nova Scotian artisans. From intricate jewelry to cozy knitwear, from stunning pottery to whimsical folk art, there's something for every taste and budget. Downtown Sketcher will be there, offering our signature hand-drawn sketches of iconic Nova Scotian urban landscapes. Our booth will feature prints, greeting cards, tote bags, magnets, and coasters, all adorned with charming cityscapes and landmarks that capture the essence of our beautiful province.

The Nova Scotia Art and Craft Show has been a cornerstone of the local artisan community for over a decade. It builds on a rich tradition of craft fairs in the province, dating back to the early 1970s when the first Christmas craft markets were organized. These events have played a crucial role in supporting and promoting Nova Scotia's thriving craft industry.

Today, the show continues to evolve, offering a modern shopping experience while staying true to its roots of showcasing handmade, locally-produced items. The move to the Cedar Event Centre in recent years has allowed for larger booth spaces and wider aisles, enhancing comfort for both exhibitors and shoppers.
