40 Days of Fine Craft 2025 Halifax - Downtown Sketcher Exhibiting

A New Chapter for Nova Scotia's Premier Craft Exhibition

While we'll be busy with our November show circuit—the Forum, Dartmouth Handcrafters, and Atlantic Maker Market—our work will also be on display at 40 Days of Fine Craft, a new exhibition format from Craft Nova Scotia running November 12 through December 21.

This is Nova Scotia's premium juried craft exhibition, and 2025 marks a significant shift. Instead of the traditional weekend Designer Craft Show format, Craft Nova Scotia is testing something different: 40 consecutive days of fine craft on display at the Centre for Craft Nova Scotia & Mary E. Black Gallery on Marginal Road.

Exhibition Details:

  • November 12 - December 21, 2025
  • 10am - 7pm daily
  • Centre for Craft Nova Scotia & Mary E. Black Gallery
  • 1061 Marginal Road, Halifax

What Makes This Different

The 40 Days format transforms the traditional craft show into an extended gallery experience. Rather than a weekend rush, visitors have over a month to browse, return, and take their time with the work on display. It's a more contemplative way to experience craft—less market, more exhibition.

Craft Nova Scotia has always maintained the highest standards for juried craft in the province. Every piece is vetted, every maker is carefully selected. This new format gives that calibre of work the space and time it deserves.

Our Work Will Be There

We won't be standing at a booth—our sketches will be on display throughout the exhibition. Prints, greeting cards, and other pieces featuring Maritime landmarks and coastal scenes will be available for visitors to browse and purchase during the gallery's daily hours.

If you're making the rounds of our November shows, you'll see us in person at the Forum, Dartmouth, and the Maker Market. But if you prefer a quieter gallery setting or want to visit outside those weekend events, 40 Days of Fine Craft offers that opportunity from mid-November through the holiday season.

Supporting the Craft Community

This is an ambitious experiment for Craft Nova Scotia, and we're honoured to be part of it. The province's craft community is strong, and initiatives like this help elevate the work and give it the recognition it deserves.
